With Hundreds Dead In The Name Of Religion, Is Christianity The Only True Religion?

Christianity as a religion

Every single person in this universe ultimately believes in something. Be it religion or science. Science and logic are pretty straightforward though there are mysteries still. But, religion is a complete mystery. There are plenty of questions.

Be it the question of what is religion is its essence? Are religion and science linked? Are they intertwined?

Is religion just the bringing of a supernatural power that is just scientific for the very purpose of playing with our brain into making things happen?

These may be all those questions that pop up in our minds. But, why don't we ask these questions to science? That is because we can prove them. Scientific facts can be proved while religion stays a mystery, nothing more than blind trust.

We know that there are many religions at present, and we follow one of those or don't follow any at all.

But what do we think of them when we adhere to them? Is there one true religion?

Here, let us consider Christianity and block and tackle to see what it made of is?

Facts known so far:-

Jotting down all the facts that we have so far:

Christianity began in the 1AD after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christ, the Son of God, came down from heaven, was born a man into a carpenter's family, and lived a holy life. He was crucified and died for the sins of the man and was later resurrected up back into heaven from the very place of his coming.

People started proclaiming Christianity as a religion, and those under this religion are the followers of Christ and thus called Christians.

This concept was first spread in Judea and was then laid out to the Romans. The Roman Empire started proclaiming and following Christianity, and finally, this religion was legalized. Then came churches and churches and even more churches.

Christianity is considered to be the world's largest religion, with almost 2.4 billion followers.

Does this make it the only true religion?

How do you accept it to be a religion, logically?

What do you think Christianity is?

In my opinion, even that 2.4 billion people following Christianity are not aware of what religion is all about.

What makes Christianity stand out from the rest of the religions?

1. It speaks of a God, who was not just a God with superpowers, but a God who was born as a man.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born into a human family. He lived a normal human life with Joseph, a carpenter as his father, and Mary, his mother.

2. Jesus lived a simple life as a man

Even in the birth of Christ, there is a lot of simplicity. God chose his son to be born in a manger rather than a palace.

Though he was the Son of God, one among the triune God, Jesus lived a simple life. (We all know what we would do if we had superpowers)

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:14)

No, Jesus was not a literal shepherd, but he disguised himself as a shepherd to guide the masses. He chose to compare himself with a common man and not with that of a dictator or a leader of the high post.

3. Jesus came to clean the sins while the other religion says that you must be free of sins to seek God

Jesus came into the world to clean the people's sins and gave his own life for the people. Here, he didn't wait until everything is clear but instead gave himself to cleanse the people's sins.

Other religions tell us that we need to be free of sins to see God, but Jesus says, "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." (Luke 5:32)

4. Christianity has no framed set of rules to be done to please God

While other religions come up with a set of rules to please God, which includes certain rituals or certain pilgrimage travel, the Bible says,

"Come to me, all who labour and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28–30).

And there is nothing that Jesus expects us to do to get his eyes on us. He has already shown us his love through his life, death, and resurrection.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16)

5 Christianity and its claims can be backed up by science

There are a few statements in the Bible that can be claimed to be true with scientific facts other than the miracles:

1. The Noah's Ark

According to the Bible, God, displeased by the people's evil deeds, wanted to destroy them and start it all over again completely. God chose Noah to build an ark and gather with him a pair of all the species and the seeds of all the plants.

After this, a deluge was introduced to destroy everyone except the ark. The ark, after being fiddled all through the divine deluge that God sent, reached Mount Ararat. After the deluge, Noah and his family are said to have disembarked to multiply and fill the earth.

A team of Christian evangelical explorers claimed to have found Noah's ark beneath the volcanic debris and snow. They seem to be 99% sure that the ark is the same as Noah's ark, as mentioned in the Bible.

2. The Tomb

Jesus Christ was crucified, therefore died and was buried. He was buried in a tomb, and the tomb was sealed with a stone.

The stone is said to be heavy enough for a person to remove, and thus it tells us the presence of power. The Empty Tomb of Jesus was found in Jerusalem. Though the tomb resembles the tomb in the Bible, scientists are trying to make sure about the tomb using various methods. The tomb has a burial bed inside.

According to the Bible, the body of Christ was buried and was sealed in the tomb. No one so far is being able to trace and identify the body of Christ. Despite years of explorations and research, the body of Christ remains to be a mystery to the eyes of science.

However, to religion is a clear indication that the entire mortal being of Jesus (Not only his soul) has risen from the dead and has gone back to where he belongs. Thus, this proves the bible verse, "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said" (Matthew 28:5)

These are a few key lines to tell that Christianity is a religion that stands apart from the other religions.

But does that mean that Christianity is the one true religion?

In line with the Bible, it is sure for one to accept that it is the one true religion, and here is why.

1. Descendants of Adam and Eve

According to the Bible, God created Adam and Eve as the first man and woman. They were made to multiply and prosper the earth. Also, we are the descendants of them.

"God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; Male and Female he created them. Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it." (Genesis 1:27-28)

Now this means that we are all a family.

2. The Ten Commandments

God gave Ten Commandments to Moses for the benefit of the people. These 10 commandments are considered to be supreme order by every Christian. The first commandment says, "I am the Lord your God; you shall have no other Gods before me." This clearly states that God is one.

3. Triune God

Christianity is based on the teachings and life of Jesus. This is a monotheistic religion, meaning the presence of one God. Though there is Father, Son and the Holy Spirit in Christianity, it all denotes one triune God, and this is again directing us to say that Christianity is one true religion.

Other than these,

The Body and Blood of Christ are believed to be present in the Holy Eucharist being provided to the prepared Christians. There are a lot of miracles that prove the real presence of Jesus Christ.

There are other remarkable miracles, and one astonishing miracle that science fails to explain is Kirby's story. He met with an accident.

The accident left him in a coma. His lungs were crushed, and nearly every other bone in his body was broken. His brain also suffered multiple strokes and hemorrhages, and his kidneys were failing. When the doctors left any hope, his family didn't. They started praying, which turned to community prayer, and he was restored to life, leaving the doctors dumbfounded.

With all these being said, should I trust that Christianity is the only true religion in the world?

Christianity can be scientifically explained, and every line in the Bible can be scientifically proven with newer research. But that doesn't have to convince you that it is the only true religion. Instead, it is left up to the individual's thought process to ponder on this.

It is suitable and acceptable to state that Christianity is not the only true religion because many of the terms in the Bible coincide with other faiths and other civilizations.

It is totally up to you to choose what you actually think is right.
