5 Delicious Foods that Increases the Amount of Insulin in Your Body & Lower Your Blood Sugar Level.

Diabetes is a condition in the blood when a person's body fails to produce the right amount of insulin. Without the production of insulin in your body, the glucose or sugar in your blood increases. Because sugar gets stored in some other cells and can't produce energy.

There are medications to control the amount of glucose in the blood. People with diabetes consume these medications. Besides, some foods are responsible for keeping blood sugar at a lower level.

Here is the list of those foods.

Beans

Beans come in different varieties such as lentils to pinto, kidney, black red. Whatever the type you choose and love to it, beans are a wonder food for lower blood sugar. Why beans are a superfood? Beans contain fiber, a carbohydrate that the body can't digest quickly.

Slow digestion also slows down the rise in blood sugar after eating. Beans also contain starch. This helps the bacteria in your gut for the production of fatty acids. This further promotes better use of insulin.

Cinnamon

Ready embarking on a complete cinnamon challenge? Your body is unable to handle the consumption of cinnamon in copious amounts. You can start by sprinkling it on a bowl of sweet potatoes or sliced apples. Consuming ½ teaspoon of cinnamon daily triggers the body cells for the production of insulin and thereby converting blood sugar into energy.

The Human Nutrition Research Centre in Beltsville, Maryland, conducted a study on diabetic patients. These patients consumed cinnamon daily in small doses for 40 days. The patients had lower blood sugar spikes. Besides, there were significant improvements in their heart health.

Popcorn

Don't like to have beans? Pop up some popcorn! Of course, without adding sugar or salt. A cup of air-popped popcorn contains 1 gram of fiber. A healthy option as its completely fat-free, cholesterol-free, low in calories. Bonus, it also contains iron and protein. Want to make it more healthy yet tasty? Add some olive oil, a sprinkle of salt, dried herbs, or hot sauce.

Chocolate

Are you excited about the name? Wait before you are heading out and buying a Snickers bar and start munching on it. We're talking not talking about the milky, sugary chocolate. Instead, these bars would spike your blood sugar levels. Shocked? Then, which chocolate is good? Yeah, you guessed it right. The bitter dark chocolate.

Tufts University stated that dark chocolate improves insulin sensitivity. The same study says chocolate helps in lowering the blood pressure and reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol. It also improves blood pressure in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension.

Cold-Water Fish

Besides snacking, you also need some main course. Cold-water fishes such as Alaskan salmon, sardines, and Atlantic mackerel are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Yes, you'll get all the "good fat"!

The National Library of Medicine published a study where they found Omega-3 fatty acids supplementation had a positive effect on glucose control and lipid levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Omega-3s also help in increasing levels of HDL (good) cholesterol and lowering the artery-clogging LDL cholesterol.

Make a fishy meal with a side of beans and a nice salad. Go for a walk before returning home and have a bowlful of your favorite air-popped popcorn. Enjoy your popcorn with shavings of dark chocolate, sprinkled with a touch of cinnamon. Rest assured because they will lower down your blood sugar levels.
